Finally, after half a year Willy the Pangolin is finished! :cake: Ballons and cake for everybody!!! :bounce:

After a strong run for the finishing line, getting his eyes right turned out to be something of a nightmare. But I must say, in the end I'm pleased with how they turned out. :D

I'll do some research in order to do an estimate of how many hours and scales I've put into this little fella, but for now it's party!!!

Plush - Willy the Pangolin by *demiveemon Every scale has been separately cut and sewn to the body! The result is a plushie with great resemblance to both the drawn character and a real pangolin. Make sure to have a look at the WIP pictures in *demiveemon's gallery, too. You'll be blown away. ( Suggested by *janey-in-a-bottle and Featured by `FrockTarts )

Thanks for the heads up. I've been away for a couple of weeks but got back home now. Posted some of my pictures into your pangolin-folder. It's great that you're featuring them! :D

Woow, yet another one! I see you're a true pangolin fan! You even named him. Cute!:XD:

Thank you. This was the first pangolin craft I made and since then more have followed but of a more simple design and less scales. :3 Willy's first appearance ever was in my current ID.

Really? I'd imagine you'd rather start with smaller and easier size pangolin plushies. :XD:
So who is this Willy anyway? Never heard of him before. Is it a character of your own creation?

Originally I didn't intend to make any more pangolin plushies since it was so hard on my hands. In Willy's case I worked on him for half a year and had to take a two months break to let them heal. XD
With the later chibi pangolins I have a lot less scales to cut out and I glue them in place instead of stitching them on like I did with this one. It makes it a lot easier in many ways.
Willy is an original character of mine and comes from my jungle themed Siesta Universe (for a lack of a better name). I plan on making a illustrated short story with him and Al'Capone at some point.

Ooh that was quite a big project. You must be so proud of him. I see you've made a lot of other animal plushies too. Is he the biggest plushie of yours or is the elephant even bigger?
Who's Al'Capone? Another pangolin? Some friend of Willy?

Willy has been the most work intense next to te plush horse I'm currently working on (developing the pattern has been troublesome). The largest by size would be Henry the Mammoth and the large owl which are rougly the same size.
Al'Capone is a tiger and the "evil" guy in my Siesta Jungle. He regards the slow moving Willy a prospect bedtime snack...

Wow! I'm checking your plushie section. So far chibi pangolin is my fav, but I love the elephant too! The idea of turning your own characters into a plushie is very cool.
A tiger? Bedtime snack?? And I thought you're trying to help the pangolins... :fear:
